The G scale model was first designed in Germany by Ernst Paul Lehmann Petentwerk. The company that made the first G scale model trains is referred as the LGB or Lehmann Gross Bahn, which means “Lehmann Big Train” in English. This company, which started in 1881, had a branch in the USA called the LGB of America.
One thing that made the G scale model trains perfect for outdoor tracks is its durability. Usually, the tracks for the train are made of brass. This does not require maintenance unlike the materials used for the tracks of other scales. The users would only need to wipe the tracks with a clean cloth, and the train would be ready to go.
